Our electronics whiz with a degree! No SMD component is too small for him, no anode voltage too high, and no in-house development too complex. While he was one of Austria’s first civil servants alongside Gert Prix just a few decades ago, MANFRED JAMMER has since risen from a simple Red Cross paramedic to a senior physician for tube­ampl­ifiers, MIDI, and other ailments.

And his unimaginable virtuosity on the accordion is, at the very least, tolerated with a degree of appreciation at the EBOARD­MUSEUM ...

Marin Gerhard

 

A bar can be incredibly important. It can even be a lifesaver, as anyone who has ever been on the verge of dying of thirst will know.

The captain of this vital lifeboat at the EBOARD­MUSEUM is restaurateur GERHARD MARIN, former tenant of the ‘Kirchenwirt’ in St. Kanzian and current operator of a café in Klagenfurt’s Südpark.

A man who’s been there from the very beginning! Years before the official opening, PETER MAYR was already involved in the construction work on what was then Europe’s largest keyboard museum. Whenever he isn’t on tour across half of Europe from his home base in Barcelona, PETER MAYR is the go-to expert for all mechanical problems.

Who would have thought how useful a degree in architecture could suddenly be when it comes to restoring Rhodes pianos or Hammond consoles...

Piber Tom

 

As a bassist, it’s not exactly easy to get the recognition you deserve in a (K)E(Y)­BOARD­MU­SEUM. But as a musician and expert in sound engineering and bits and bytes, TOM PIBER has been an indispensable part of the museum team for several years now.

And what would our café corner be without Tom’s om­ni­po­tent dis­cussion­s­tributions???

Prix Gert

 

At the age of 30, GERT PRIX combined his love of music and electronic musical instruments to create a museum that is now regarded as the world’s largest of its kind. In his day job, GERT taught mathematics, computer science and music. He never wanted to be headteacher at his school, and today he knows why:

Representing, organising concerts, organising, restoring, perfecting… these are the more pleasant aspects of being a head­te­acher. But a good boss also knows where the broom and dustpan are kept, has at least a basic grasp of the delights of proper book­keeping, and is also familiar with the coffee­machine and dust­bunnies!

Otherwise, it’s only GERT’s all-encompassing taste in music that occasionally causes panic and bewilderment amongst the rest of the museum team...

There is good reason to believe that the EBOARD­MU­SE­UM, in its current form, is ultimately down to GERTI PRIX. But surely seven Hammond organs [or something like that...] in the living room at home shouldn’t be too much to ask of a wife and mother of two children, should it?

In any case, GERTI followed the development of this museum from the very beginning, marked by these alternating emotional outbursts:

· Serenity
· Appreciation
· Enthusiasm
· Utter horror

And her feminine touch is absolutely essential to the museum’s high feel-good factor!

Our webmaster must have learnt his trade from Lucky Luke: faster than his shadow, he uploads – no, not the Colt – the updated data to the web, so that our artists can be seen in all their glory in the photo gallery in the "Events - Review" at ▸ www.eboardmuseum.com before they even go to bed.

And without CHARLIE, you wouldn’t even be able to read this!

When our innate perfectionism occasionally gets us down, these two are there for us:

They save us from having to call in a therapist whenever troubleshooting turns out to be a real slog, bureaucracy threatens to stifle our creativity, or the Hammond generator is taken apart for the seventeenth time because the result just isn’t quite right to our ears yet.
